The election interference case against former President Donald Trump in Fulton County, Georgia, may remain on hold as it goes through the appeal process. But Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her one-time paramour, former special prosecutor Nathan Wade, are back in the news.
While Wade and Willis testified that their romantic relationship began in early 2022 and ended in 2023, Wade also said when he took the stand in February that the two remain “good friends” and are “probably closer than ever” because of the scrutiny.
That closeness was on display late last month when, as The Daily Mail first reported, he was seen on police body cam footage alongside Willis after the DA’s pregnant daughter was arrested. On Wednesday’s show, Megyn was joined by Glenn Greenwald, host of Rumble’s System Update, to discuss the latest twist in the Willis and Wade saga.
What Happened
Back on August 24, Willis’ daughter Kinaya Willis was arrested for allegedly driving with a suspended license. The Daily Mail reported that the 25 year old was pulled over after cops spotted her using a cell phone on the road. According to the police report, Kinaya “stated that the reason for her using her cell phone while operating the vehicle was due to her mother calling her related to her pregnancy.”
In the meantime, police learned of the issue with her drivers license. She told officers she was “unaware” it had been revoked on May 13 and suggested it may have been due to unpaid tickets in Florida. Kinaya was arrested without incident and subsequently released. She is scheduled to be arraigned on October 24.
According to The Daily Mail, Kinaya had been traveling with her older sister Nia at the time of the traffic stop. Nia reportedly called Willis in the aftermath of the arrest, and by the time Willis arrived on the scene, Kinaya was already en route to the Fayette County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a revoked or suspended license.
But Willis was not alone. Body cam footage obtained by DailyMail.com shows Willis and Wade arrive on the scene together in a black SUV. The casually dressed pair exited the vehicle and began talking with cops who initially mistook them for Kinaya’s mom and dad. The district attorney corrected the officers, referring to Wade as “just a friend.”
Together Again?
Megyn wasn’t buying it. “These two are still together – that is my strong opinion – and they never weren’t together. They’ve been together the whole time,” Megyn said. “Look, I know they could still be friends, but I don’t drive around with my male friends and, when a kid got in trouble, I certainly would not be [with them].”
In Greenwald’s view, this is but the latest fantastical turn in the unbelievable case. “Maybe it is a gigantic coincidence that she happened to be having lunch or dinner with her friend, who used to be her boyfriend, who decided to go help her out with her daughter,” he said. “But in general, that is not the way things happen, especially given the public scrutiny that they’re under.”
Ultimately, Megyn said it appears to be yet another lie in what is a long list of them. “I believe it’s yet another instance of perjury for them to have gotten up there and falsely claimed that they hadn’t started this affair back in 2019 – long before she brought him in – and they lied when they said they had broken up,” Megyn concluded. “[Here they] were running around together, putting out fires with the daughter, super casual in the car. That’s my take.”
