I love that they do this because they are actual tech gurus. These guys are billionaires. They are extremely successful, and they are getting all the big names (Peter Theil, Sergey Brin, Marc Benioff… the list goes on) to speak. The audience was full of these young, smart tech guys and gals and it was such a dynamic crowd.
Elon Musk was the big headliner on Monday, and my chat with the guys was just before his. I got to meet him for the first time backstage. It was very cool. He is truly larger than life. It was like the seas parted when he arrived.
We had a very nice exchange. I shook his hand and I said, ‘Thank you for saving free speech in America.’ And he said, ‘Same to you,’ which was very sweet. But man, think about the impact he has had, think about all the things we can talk about now in an honest way that we couldn’t before he took over X.
I am sincerely grateful to him, and I am sure you are too.
