Megyn Advises GOP to Stop Agreeing to Debates After ‘Out of Control’ Bias from Corporate Media

It’s been less than 24 hours since the big CBS News vice presidential debate between Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Honestly, the more I have thought about it, the angrier I have gotten over the amount of bias there was from the moderators in favor of the Democrats.

The Problem

The media bias has gotten so out of control I don’t think Republicans should be agreeing to do any more of these debates, at any point, on any of these networks. The only way they should opt in going forward is if there is an equal number in a forum of their choosing.

They can let the Democrats choose between ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, CNN, and even MSNBC. Tell them that they can pick two, and then Republicans pick two. They can then propose one with The Megyn Kelly Show and one with Fox News or whatever it is.

What other way is there to fix this?

Right now, you are voluntarily going into a lion’s den in which you are the bait. The lion will try to eat you as they treat the other candidate as the little baby lion cub. They will try to protect that person and run cover for that person. And if you wind up posing any sort of a threat to that person, everyone in the arena will be against you. They will try to cut your head off or, in the case of last night, cut your mic off. That is what we saw.

What Went Wrong

Margaret Brennan was absolutely terrible. Just as things started to roll on immigration in a way that was really good – J.D. Vance was bringing up the specifics of what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have done with this app that lets illegals come into the country ‘legally,’ but it is all a sleight of hand – she tried to change the subject and CBS actually cut the mics. It was egregious.

Let me tell you something as a moderator who has tried to herd these cats on the debate stage many times: I am not opposed to cutting a mic if things get totally out of hand. However, you only cut the mics when it gets past the point of usefulness and the candidates are just talking over each other. You do it when the sparring becomes a waste of the viewers’ time.

That is not what happened last night. When J.D. Vance was getting to the meat of the Biden-Harris policy and was moving in for the kill, CBS shut it down. It was infuriating to watch both candidates indicate they wanted to engage on this only to be cut off.

They are the ones running for office, Margaret Brennan, not you. In that situation, I would have said, ‘They just cut your mics. Turn the mics back on. Mr. Vance, you have 30 seconds. Mr. Walz, you’ll have 30 after that. Go.’

‘It Is Not Okay’

But there is a reason Margaret Brennan and CBS News stepped in when they did. It is the same reason that, according to the Media Research Center, 84 percent of the coverage on the CBS Evening News has been positive when talking about Kamala Harris, while 79 percent of the coverage has been negative when talking about Donald Trump. It is nearly the exact same figure only reverse on the positivity and the negativity.

They are in the tank for Team Blue, and it is outrageous. I know we are used to it, but it is not okay to be used to it. Your blood must boil.
